Oso Sweet-N-Spicy Onion Rings

Serves 8

Ingredients

2 Large Oso Sweet Onions
2 1/2 cups
Buttermilk
2 Large
Eggs
3 tbsp Water
1 3/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
2 tsp Salt
2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
1 tsp Chili Powder
1 tsp Dill weed
1 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Ground Cumin
  Oil for Deep-Fat Frying

Preparation

Cut OSO Sweet onions into 1/4-inch slices; separate into rings. Place in a large bowl; cover with buttermilk and soak for 30-minutes, stirring twice. In another bowl, beat eggs and water. In a shallow dish, combine flour and your seasonings. Drain onion rings; dip into egg mixture, then coat with flour mixture.


In a electric skillet or deep-fat fryer. heat 1-inch oil to 375. Fry Onion rings; a few at a time, for 1 to 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.


These Oso Sweet Light and crispy onion rimgs are "Just Right". They are delicious along-side or on top of your grilled Hamburgers and hot dogs. Great by themselves. Great for any picnic.
